Description

The villa is situated in a rural location near the foot of a mountain range.   Villa Meliha is surrounded by cotton fields and lemon and orange and pomegranate groves.   Our nearest neighbours are a farm, and 2 other Oruc villas which are both a whole field away from us.   We are just 1km off the Itzuzu beach road.   It is a 20 minute walk into the village or a 5 minute cycle.

The villa has 4 double bedrooms downstairs, each with en-suite shower-room (the main bedroom has a Jacuzzi) and dressing room and a large (100m2) open plan living room/ kitchen upstairs.   Each room has doors opening out onto it’s own large patio or balcony.   The exterior of the building is partially clad in the local stonework and has attractive wrought iron work on the balconies.   There is a fire-place for burning logs in the winter and each room has an air conditioner which is also a heater.   The kitchen is fully fitted (dish-washer, w.machine ceramic hob and microwave, fridge-freezer and electric oven).   The villa is a modern design with plenty of space and light.   The floors are of the local marble (travertine) and all the wood-work and much of the furniture is hand made by local craftsmen.

There are sofa beds upstairs for extra children and below stairs the villa will comfortably accommodate 8 people.  (Two double beds and four singles).   Bedding and towels are supplied.

The spacious (1300m2) gardens have a 10 metre swimming pool with a paddling area and a 'Çardak' which is a Turkish style wooden garden house (for those lazy siestas in the cooling shade).   Bicycles are available for your outings to the village and there are little shops nearby for basic needs.   If you have not arrived by hire car the local taxis are very good and it is only a few minutes to the local supermarkets and the village itself.   We hope you decide to pay Villa Meliha a visit.

How to Get There

Dalyan

Dalyan Dalyan is well known thanks to its proximity to the famous 7km Iztuzu Beach where the endangered Loggerhead Turtles (Caretta Caretta) lay their eggs, the beach and surrounding area is protected. As well as Loggerhead Turtles Dalyan is also home to the largest population of the Soft Shelled Nile Turtles (Trionyx triunguis).
Steeped in history Dalyan is overlooked by ancient Lycian Rock Tombs which are the last resting places of the Kings of Kaunos, meanwhile the Dalyan Canal weaves its way past the village on its way from Köyceğiz Lake to the beach.

Nearby are the ruins of the city of Kaunos, with a Roman theatre, fortifications, basilica and many other sites to be seen. Also with Mud Baths, Thermal Springs, an Historic Mosque and Scenic Walks Dalyan has it all for the perfect relaxing holiday.
